You may have noticed a string of 8 characters next to your wallet in the wallet selector.
These 8 characters are a shortened fingerprint of your wallet. They are derived from your wallet’s master key and uniquely identify that specific wallet without revealing any sensitive information.
They help you tell wallets apart if you have more than one, and confirm you are using the correct wallet when restoring or switching between devices. Even if you rename a wallet, the fingerprint stays the same.
If you restore the same wallet from the same seed phrase, the fingerprint will match. If it is different, it is a different wallet.
This fingerprint cannot be used to access your funds. It is simply a visual identifier.
