AQUA supports Bitcoin, Lightning, and Liquid assets exclusively. However, AQUA users are able to send or receive Tether USDt from the Ethereum and Tron chains via third-party rails we have enabled for such purposes.
Although AQUA will always be a Bitcoin-only wallet, our experience and research across the world has taught us that people in developing countries use stablecoins like USDt to shelter themselves from inflation. Since USDt is the most popular and dominant stablecoin, and it is also minted on the Liquid Network, AQUA has chosen to add L-USDt as one of its supported Liquid assets at launch.
In the future, AQUA may add support to send and receive USDt from more altcoin chains.
Disclaimer: When AQUA users receive USDt via Tron or Ethereum, AQUA instantly converts those funds into Liquid USDt; this is the same conversion that occurs when sending your native L-USDt to a Tron or Ethereum address. Your AQUA wallet will only ever hold Liquid USDt.
