AQUA gives users access to Bitcoin, Liquid assets, and Lightning. While Bitcoin and Liquid are supported natively, Lighting send/receives are executed via trustless swaps though Boltz.
This means that your AQUA wallet never holds Bitcoin on Lightning at any time, but rather Layer 2 Bitcoin on Liquid. Each time you send out or receive a payment, Liquid Bitcoin (L-BTC) is instantly exchanged in the background.
For this reason, when sending or receiving Bitcoin via Lightning you can expect minimum fees to be around the 400-600 sats range; on the other hand, when receiving funds through Lightning, Boltzās service fee starts at ~40 sats. However, these fees scale favorably for users, meaning if bigger amounts are sent, they can expect to use Lightning with more competitive fees.
